Komphela keen to get Lebese fit

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela is desperate to get midfielder George Lebese back to full fitness by the end of the week.

The Soweto club's medical department is scrambling to get Lebese fit in time for the clash against Platinum Stars at the Cape Town Stadium on Sunday.

Komphela admits that the club has been missing the influential player since he picked up a groin injury in the goalless draw with Mamelodi Sundowns on January 9.

"To tell you the truth we are fighting tooth and nail to get him ready for Sunday's clash," Komphela told KickOff.

"We would want to field our best and strongest team for our fans in Cape Town as well.

"It's important not to disappoint our fans as they have been good to us by showing their support here in Cape Town.

"They are very intelligent under the guidance of Cavin Johnson and just a good all round team."
