Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs head coach Steve Komphela has
urged his players to "send a strong message" when they lock horns
with Platinum Stars in an Absa Premiership clash on Wednesday evening.
Amakhosi will be hoping to produce a strong performance in
their first home match of the campaign, having suffered back-to-back defeats in
their first two fixtures.
"Apart from this being the first home game, it is our
second league match of the season," Komphela told the club's official
website. "At some point we have to send a strong message to the
opponents."
Komphela's is hoping the recent international break will not
have an adverse effect on his side in Wednesday's clash, but says he doesn't
want to use that as an excuse.
"You will never know where you exactly stand until you
go through the match," Komphela added.
"You don't want to come up with excuses, because all
the teams went through the same period. We must just guard that the break won't
affect us negatively."
In team news, Komphela has confirmed that Emmanuel Letlotlo
could feature against Dikwena, pending a late fitness test. However, Keagan
Buchanan is not expected to play any part in the fixture.
"We have a few niggling injuries," he revealed. "The medical team will give us an indication on Emmanuel Letlotlo, but Keagan Buchanan will not be rushed to play in this one."
