Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela has dismissed suggestions by Mamelodi Sundowns counterpart Pitso Mosimane that his team are favourites heading into the PSL clash on Saturday.
The Amakhosi will lock horns against the Absa Premiership reigning champions in what is being billed as the match-up of the weekend's fixtures at the iconic FNB stadium.
Komphela, responding to Mosimane, said that despite Chiefs' impressive league form of late, the Glamour Boys will not underestimate their opponents on the day.
"We will give them the respect they deserve," said Komphela.
"Underdogs? I beg to differ. The tag underdog is a very dangerous tag as the universe has always been kind to the team less favoured. They are not underdogs, maybe they are now seeking divine intervention."
Meanwhile, 'Downs skipper Hlompho Kekana believes that it will not be a walk in the park for the Pretoria giants. adding that his team-mates needed no extra motivation for the game against Chiefs.
"Obviously we're not going there to lose a match," said Kekana.
"We're going to give them all the respect they deserve. It won't be an easy game.
"We don't need any extra motivation against Chiefs."
The action is set to get underway at 20:15.
