Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs head coach Steve Komphela has praised goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma on his debut despite conceding three goals.
Itumeleng Khune picked up an injury in the Nedbank Cup quarter-final defeat against SuperSport United and with Brilliant Khuzwayo already sidelined, Komphela had to rely on the 21-year-old against an attack minded Cape Town City at Cape Town Stadium.
The match ended 3-2 in the favour of the Citizens but Komphela felt that the 'keeper did good job in a high pressure situation.
"He did well," said Komphela.
"One, apart from the goals, we are looking at him, how comfortable he is, the ease, the decision-making, the communication with the defence and above all, you say in line with how we play as Kaizer Chiefs, how far is he?
"He was not far off, and the goals we conceded could have happened to any keeper.
"The first goal, the second goal, even the last one, maybe you can say the defenders could have dealt with it, you never know. But yes, conceded three, but you can't falter him. I think he came out very nice."
Chiefs travel next to the Mbombela Stadium to take on SuperSport United on Saturday, April 29.
Kick off is at 18:00.
