Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela has made no secret of the fact that winning trophies at the club is his clear mandate.
Since arriving at Naturena before the 2015/16 season,
Komphela has yet to win a trophy despite reaching two cup finals with the team
in the last campaign.
The 49-year-old was facing a fair amount of pressure after a
difficult start to 2016/17, however fortunes have since changed around after
the club recorded four wins in a row in the league.
The Glamour Boys now top the Premiership table alongside
co-leaders Golden Arrows, and signs are there that a successful campaign could
be on the cards.
Nonetheless, ahead of Chiefs' Telkom Knockout last 16 clash
with Maritzburg United on Saturday, the Kroonstad-born coach has made it clear
that winning trophies is a priority.
He told the club's official website: "We wish to reach the final once again but this time we must win the trophy.
Reaching the final
is a good indicator, but at Chiefs trophies matter most."
Saturday's action gets underway from 20:15 at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
