Komphela: A game of small margins

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela has revealed his disappointment at not claiming a victory against Orlando Pirates at the FNB Stadium.

Joseph Malongoane put the Glamour Boys ahead before an own goal by Tsepo Masilela drew matters level before the break.

It was an evenly-contested game although Willard Katsande missed a late penalty which would have given all three points to Chiefs.

As such, Komphela has expressed his dismay at not picking up the win.

"We feel a bit disappointed on what transpired. It was a game of small margins," he told the club's official website.

"We missed a penalty, five minutes before the end of the match. That clouds a bit my opinion at the moment. I also don't want to blame anybody.

"It happens. I was desperate to win, but talking to Willard now doesn't help, the match is finished. I just hate it that we couldn't win the game, despite getting enough chances to do so."

Amakhosi's next order of business is a Nedbank Cup Round of 32 tie against Stellenbosch FC at Athlone Stadium in Cape Town on Saturday.

Kick off is at 15:30.
