Kobola eyes Chiefs scalp

Cape Town - Cape Town City skipper Vincent Kobola believes that the new kids on the block will surprise many in the country when the Mother City based team face Kaizer Chiefs in the MTN8 quarter-final next week.

City will host the mighty Amakhosi at the Cape Town Stadium in the Wafa-Wafa competition on Friday, 25 August 2016.

The Polokwane born defender believes that the 2016/17 Absa Premiership rookies are eager to impress the Mother City residents when the season commence and they will be all out to cause an upset over the Phefeni Glamour Boys.

“We are going to surprise so many people in the country, watch the space,” said Kobola.

“Not taking anything away from Kaizer Chiefs, they are the cup kings of South African football.

“But we are ready for them, we are capable of beating them and we want to do this.

“We are Cape Town City football club and everyone in Cape Town is excited about this.

“And we are going to give them (Chiefs) the respect they deserve.”
