Cape Town - Bidvest Wits midfielder Daine Klate is in awe of attacking prodigy Phakamani Mahlambi after some pivotal performances this season.
Mahlambi has impressed Klate with his talent and sharpness in front of goal for the Clever Boys, having scored three goals so far, and the 18-year-old has been earmarked as the rising stars in the Premiership.
"His talent is very scary. I think as senior players we have to guide them," Klate told KickOff.
"We try and speak to him constantly. I said to him the other day in training that he must up his fitness more because if he can be more fitter he can go for 90 minutes. He'll always be a threat.
"We'll try help him and keep him grounded. We've had a lot of talent. You can name a lot of players, the Junior Khanye's of this world, have gone by the wayside. It's our responsibility as a team to help him. He's at the right set-up and hopefully he can go to Europe."
In-form Wits sit atop the league table with 26 points from 11 games after eight wins, two draws and one loss to lead Mamelodi Sundowns by three points.
