Khune: No clue why Chiefs can't score

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs skipper Itumeleng Khune has explained that he has no answer as to why Amakhosi can't convert their chances and pick up points.

The Glamour Boys have had a discouraging start to their season with two losses in their opening two matches, scoring just once.

Steve Komphela's men lost 2-1 to Bidvest Wits in the Absa Premiership and were defeated 1-0 by Cape Town City in their MTN8 quarter-final.

Chiefs did create some chances against the PSL newcomers, however they were unable to convert any that came their way.

Nonetheless, Khune believes that Chiefs are on the right path under the 49-year-old Steve Komphela, but had no answer to why the club weren't scoring enough goals.

He told reporters: "The coach is preparing us well, we just can't score goals. I think that's where the problem is. We work a lot at training on finishing and we do take those chances. But when it comes to competitive matches, I don't know what's happening..."

Chiefs' next assignment is against Platinum Stars in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday, September 14.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
