Khune in Chiefs squad despite allergic reaction

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune is in the squad to take on AmaZulu despite his recent allergic reaction after eating prawns.

According to the Soccer Laduma website, the shot-stopper travelled to KwaZulu-Natal for Wednesday's Absa Premiership clash, but whether he will start in goal for the Soweto giants remains to be seen.

The 30-year-old recently returned from a facial fracture injury which saw him wear a protective mask during Bafana Bafana’s 2018 Soccer World Cup qualifier against Senegal.

Meanwhile, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Kgotso Moleko, Teenage Hadebe, Ryan Moon and Tsepo Masilela are expected to miss out for Chiefs due to injury.

Steve Komphela will also have to do without youngster Wiseman Meyiwa as the rising star is suspended.

Kick-off is at 19:30.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
