Khune hits clean sheet for 250th Chiefs start

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune held a clean sheet against Free State Stars in his 250th start for the Soweto giants.

Ea Lla Koto made Amakhosi work extremely hard for the 2-0 victory as goals from Willard Katsande and Michelle Katsvairo guided the side to a three match winning streak.

Khune held his own between the sticks with a number of good saves to keep Stars frustrated.

'Spiderkid' made his debut for the Naturena outfit in 2007 and has been a revelation ever since after been promoted to the first team.

The shot stopper went onto solidify his place in the Chiefs' starting XI with also becoming Bafana Bafana's regular first choice.

Last season the 29-year-old had seen out his contract (expired) but was then offered another deal weeks after leaving the club.

Khune took to Instagram to thank the Amakhosi fans for their continued support after Chiefs secured the all important three points against Stars.
