Khuboni couldn't resist Highlands offer

Cape Town - New Highlands Park midfielder Thanduyise Khuboni has revealed that the offer from the Premiership rookies was too good to refuse.

The 30-year-old was a free agent after Mpumalanga Black Aces' Premiership status was sold to the newly formed Cape Town City FC.

Before signing the two-year deal with Highlands, Khuboni also had offers from a handful of clubs in the Premiership.

"They brought a good contract to my agent and I was happy. Highlands is a good team and they have a good coach," Khuboni told the Sowetan Live.

"Wits were interested and Platinum Stars were interested, as well as Free State Stars. But I was happy with what Highlands were offering.

"I was expecting to go there [to Wits], but they were not sure. So I decided not to waste time because it's not easy to get a team that will give you a good contract at our age. These days teams sign youngsters, so I am happy with what was given to me by the team.

"They [Aces] wanted me to stay, but I was not happy with the contract they offered me and I couldn't go to Cape Town."
