Cape Town - With Orlando Pirates finding themselves in a bad run of form, club chairman Dr Irvin Khoza says that they are working hard behind the scenes to get the Sowetan side back on track.
The Buccaneers barely had time off at the end of the 2014/15 campaign as the club was participating in the CAF Confederation Cup which they made the finals to but lost the two-legged final to Etoile du Sahel.
According to KickOff, Khoza says that they are reflecting on how they can better their situation and learn from the mistakes they made over the past year.
“We are working very hard because this is not a very comfortable position to be sitting in, but then it is also important as a learning experience that you must understand the feeling of being down there,” Khoza said.
“You never take your space for granted and you never take your position for granted, whether in your house, in your business, in church, anywhere.
“You must always do an assessment and reflect. That position gives us time to reflect about ourselves as individuals and as a team collectively.”
Pirates currently ply 11th position on the Absa Premiership log.
The Buccaneers host Kaizer Chiefs at the FNB Stadium in the Soweto derby as they seek to climb their way into the top eight.
Kick-off is at 15:30 on Saturday, January 30.
