Katsande calls on Chiefs players to show their pride

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande believes the upcoming Macufe Cup provides a good opportunity for the players to show their pride in playing for the Soweto giants.

Amakhosi currently lie in sixth position on the PSL table, having won two and drawn three of their seven league games this term.

With the league currently on hold due to the international break, the Glamour Boys will face Bloemfontein Celtic in the Macufe Cup at Free State Stadium on Sunday.

And Katsande wants his team-mates to make the most of the opportunity.

"We are happy to play again for the Macufe Cup," he told the club website

"We are prepared to fight hard to uphold the Kaizer Chiefs badge. It is important for us to make sure that we represent the badge with honour whenever we take on an opponent.

"We appreciate this invite, because it gives us an opportunity to keep match-fit during the Fifa-break.

"We are professionals enough to realise that our supporters are not happy with our current league form. This match will give us another opportunity to sample some of the tactics, as we prepare for our upcoming league matches.

"We go into any match with the history of the club in mind. Walking through the tunnel in the Gold and Black colours is a privilege. On Sunday, that same attitude will continue."

Kick off is at 15:00.
