Mthembu-Celtic deal to conclude soon, says Motaung

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung provided an update on the current transfer deals the club are involved in.

Amakhosi confirmed talks with Bloemfontein Celtic for a loan deal of Siphelele Mthembu.

“The talks with Celtic for the loan deal of Mthembu are at an advanced stage. We hope to conclude the deal soon,”  Motaung revealed on the club’s website.

The players on trial are Venezuelan striker Gustavo Paez, and defenders Pedro Henrique Dias de Amorim from Brazil and Miracle Gabeya from Malawi.

“We have released the Ivorian player Ismael Olivier Traore back to his team. We will assess the remaining players in the next week before we come to a conclusion.”

Meanwhile, Lorenzo Gordinho, who recently extended his contract with the Glamour Boys, is back in South Africa.

“We allowed Lorenzo to go on trial at the Danish outfit Aalborg BK,” Motaung continues.

“We welcome Lorenzo back. At the moment we have not received communication on the outcome of his trial. He is still contracted to us, so we will look at the offer if it is presented and take it from there.

“We will receive a full report from the coach when the team returns from the training camp. We will update the supporters on any news by the end of January.”

Chiefs will resume their league fixtures against Free State Stars on Tuesday, February 7 at FNB Stadium.

Kick off is at 19:30.
