Kadodia: Rusike not joining Chiefs

Cape Town - Maritzburg United chairman Farook Kadodia says the club have absolutely no intention of allowing Evans Rusike to join Kaizer Chiefs.

The former Hwange striker netted nine league goals for the KZN club last season, including two goals on the final day against Jomo Cosmos which saved his side from relegation.

The 26-year-old's outstanding performances saw him linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs, who are in a squad rebuilding phase at the moment.

But Maritzburg, who are also in the process of making wholesale changes to their team, are adamant they will not be tempted by any offers for the Zimbabwe international, who was named their Player of the Season last term.

"Tell everybody Rusike is going nowhere. Chiefs have made a hundred offers and l have received two hundred offers, and Rusike is not for sale and it is simple as that," Kadodia told KickOff.

Rusike is reportedly in the final year of his contract with United, meaning he will be free to join a club of his choice in 12 months' time.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
