Josephs wants Wits to remain calm ahead of Pirates clash

Cape Town - Bidvest Wits goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs insists that Thursday's match against Orlando Pirates is the biggest game of his life.

"The biggest game of my life is coming up on Thursday, which is also the biggest game of our lives," the 36-year-old declared as quoted by KickOff website.

The Clever Boys take on the Buccaneers in an Absa Premiership clash as they look to widen the gap at the summit of the log standings.

Gavin Hunt's charges are a point (51) ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns (50) with both sides having played 25 games.

Josephs wants Wits to "remain calm" despite the pressure that comes with chasing a title and setting the pace of the Premiership table.

"We just have to remain calm because this (title race) is still anybody’s game but as long as we focus on our game and do what we have to do and pick up the points that we need to be picking up, we stand a good chance because it is still in our hands. We are not depending on anybody so the next game is the biggest game of our lives.

"These were three very important points (against Sundowns) and Thursday is an even bigger game again with Orlando Pirates coming at a time when they have been on a good run as well. It is going to be another humdinger but these are the games you want to be playing.

"You want to be playing the big teams which is a bit easier motivation-wise and tactically it is better because you know their shape and the coach can study it.

"So it will be a big game on Thursday and we are looking forward to that," he noted.

Kick off is at 19:30.
