Cape Town - Former Mamelodi Sundowns star Hilton Jordan insists the club will have to buy at least two defenders to cover Thabo Nthethe and Wayne Arendse ahead of their busy schedule next season.
The Brazilians will be defending their league title, while returning to continental football in the CAF Champions League next year, and Jordan believes having a back-up player in every position, especially in defence, will help Pitso Mosimane's team maintain their momentum.
"They have done very well this season, but there will be even more pressure next season to succeed again. That will demand Pitso to add one or two centre-backs that can be cover for Nthethe or Arendse in case of injuries or loss of form," Jordan told Goal website.
"So the two defenders should be youngsters to also keep the veterans on their toes.
"I think Sundowns’ success this season has had to do with their big squad as they still performed even when some of their key players were injured."
