Cape Town - Orlando Pirates coach Kjell Jonevret says Oupa Manyisa and Mpho Makola both underlined their potential as match-winners over the weekend.
Makola scored with a brilliant long-range shot and Manyisa rounded off a scintillating run from the middle of the park, both in Pirates' 4-1 victory over Free State Stars in their Nedbank Cup last 16 encounter on Saturday.
Manyisa is in the process of rediscovering his best form after a serious injury kept him out for most of last season and Jonevret is pleased to see the midfield talisman becoming increasingly influential.
"People told me Oupa had been weak for some time and I think he has been our best player for long now. He was the same again and I think he was very good out there," the Swede said during his post-match interview.
The Pirates coach believes both the Bafana Bafana midfielders could be key to Bucs' fortunes for the remainder of the season.
"Of course they are our key players, I mean both goals for example were fantastic goals.
"Last week (Makola) wasn't able to be here because of the injury and players like that they have to step forward.
"They have to be the first in line because if we play like this we can win many matches."
Pirates are in action on Tuesday night when they host Maritzburg United at the Orlando Stadium.
