Cape Town - Orlando Pirates coach Kjell Jonevret believes his side's hunger helped them overcome Bloemfontein Celtic in Saturday's Nedbank Cup quarter-final.
The Buccaneers got out of jail in the 103rd minute of extra time thanks to a Thamsanqa Gabuza strike that sealed the 2-1 win.
"I think they wanted so much to win this one and I think they were a little bit nervous," Jonevret was quoted by KickOff website.
"But, staying in the cup right now is important," said the Swede.
Despite the win, however, Jonevret added he was not happy they did not take their chances, and could have at least scored two more goals.
"In the end we are happy of course because we are in the hat for the draw."
The Sea Robbers will meet either holders SuperSport United, Chippa United or Golden Arrows in the semi-finals of the tournament.
Meanwhile, the Buccaneers will shift their focus to the Absa Premiership on Wednesday evening against Baroka FC at Orlando Stadium.
Kick off is at 19:30.
