Cape Town - An Achilles tendon injury looks set to rule Orlando Pirates defender Happy Jele out of Wednesday's league clash against Dikwena.
The Buccaneers return to action after the international break with a match against Platinum Stars at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday evening.
But they'll likely be without the experienced Jele, according to a statement on the Pirates website.
"The 30-year old suffered a knock to his Achilles tendon and is currently receiving treatment with the strength and conditioning team however, as it stands it looks like Jele will not be ready in time for the match on Wednesday," the statement read.
"According to the Bucs medical team, the centre back is still experiencing some discomfort and as a result he will continue working on his rehabilitation."
Fellow centre-back Gladwin Shitolo also remains sidelined for the Sea Robbers after his return from long-term injury suffered a recent setback.
According to Stephan Plummer, the club's rehab specialist, "Shitolo is scheduled to start his final phase of rehab this week. He received a bad knock to his quad in the friendly game last week (7 October). We have been focussing on physiotherapy for the past week."
Kick off is at 19:30.
