Cape Town - Orlando Pirates right-back Happy Jele believes the international break aided the team in their preparations for the CAF Confederation Cup final on Saturday.
Eric Tinkler's side welcome Etoile du Sahel to Orlando Stadium this weekend for the first leg of the tournament decider, having last been in action against arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the Telkom Knockout 12 days ago.
Jele is back in the fold after recovering from a hamstring injury he sustained three weeks ago and he admits the Tunisian giants were pretty much an unknown entity to the Buccaneers before the domestic pause, but the technical team had since done their homework during that 10-day period.
"As a player, you always want to play every week - every two days if possible - because we train longer [when we don't play], so we want to play so the sessions can become shorter," the 28-year-old defender told KickOff.
"But this time I think the break came at a good time because we didn't know much about our opponents, and the coaches have been doing a great job in analysing them.
"So far we've been preparing very well; we know what to do [in the game] and we know [Etoile] now."
Kick-off is at 20:00.
