Injury to keep Sangweni out for the season

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates coach Eric Tinkler confirms that Siyabonga Sangweni is out for the rest of the season with a knee ligament injury.

According to KickOff, Tinkler also reveals that Oupa Manyis will return back to the fold in April while Happy Jele is set to return in the next two weeks.

"Rooi Mahamutsa is still out with a hamstring [strain]; Oupa Manyisa will be back, probably, by April," Tinkler said.

"Thandani Ntshumayelo is down with a flue, he should be back within a next week. Siyabonga Sangweni has a knee ligament injury - I don't think we will see him again for the rest of the reason.

"Thabo Qalinge should be available for selection in our next match against Free State Stars.”

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
