Cape Town - Gavin Hunt admits Kaizer Chiefs could have an advantage playing at Cape Town Stadium as Bidvest Wits prepare to face the Telkom Knock-out finalists on Saturday.
The Amakhosi and the Cape Town municipality struck a lucrative deal to bring the Soweto giants to play three home games during the festive season and Hunt is worried that the 'home' support will give Chiefs the edge.
"It does make a difference playing this game in Cape Town, because if you play Chiefs at FNB Stadium, they'll have 5000 people in the stands. In Cape Town they can get 40000," Hunt told The Sowetan.
"Obviously, it's financially good for Chiefs, because of course they won't be going to Cape Town for nothing. And at the same time they'll get a bigger crowd."
The Absa Premiership returns to action with a full round of fixtures this weekend after a three-week break and Hunt has admitted his team has been incredibly frustrated by losing their momentum.
"There's not much you can do. You can't train at high intensity. The training's been varied - we've tried to keep things going. It's been frustrating, but it's the same for everybody," the coach said.
"We've played friendlies, but the last thing you want to do is play friendlies. You can't expect the players to play at intensity."
The eagerly awaited fixture will kick-off at 18:00 on Saturday, December 19 as Bidvest Wits look to cement their spot on top of the table against the wounded Kaizer Chiefs, who suffered a 3-1 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns in the Telkom Knockout final on Wednesday evening.
