Hunt still has faith in Clever Boys

Cape Town - Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt insists that their Premiership ambitions for this season have not been derailed, despite a recent string of poor results.

The university club has dropped down to third in the table having collected 20 points from 10 games, including six wins, two draws and two losses.

Hunt's side are winless in their last three matches after defeats against Cape Town City FC (3-2) and SuperSport United (2-0), as well as a 2-2 draw against rookies Highlands Park.

"We played 10 games and if you make 20 points in the next 10, 20 points also in the next 10 we might win the league, it won't be bad," Hunt told KickOff.

"So we have let ourselves down in the last three games we know that and it's been poor from a results perspective but football sometimes goes like that.

"You've got to be brave and stand up. But I will always be honest when we deserve to lose but that game against Cape Town City - not a chance, not the slightest of chance.

"Highlands Park was the same, possibly SuperSport certainly they didn't deserve to beat us but I mean they beat us, so it's what happens."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
