Hunt praises Klate's professionalism

Cape Town - Bidvest Wits manager Gavin Hunt has heaped praise on Daine Klate after his man of the match performance in the MTN8 final.

Klate's two goals and assist helped the Clever Boys beat Premiership Champions Mamelodi Sundowns 3-0 on Saturday, and Hunt feels the model professional doesn't receive enough plaudits for his achievements in local football.

The former Supersport United man, who has won five league titles in his career, helped Wits to their first piece of silverware since their 2009/10 Nedbank Cup triumph.

"Daine has been a fantastic servant," Hunt told IOL. "I don't think that he gets the accolades he deserves in this game.

"This was his 13th final. He has won so many league titles. He has been a great servant of the game for South African football.

"He should have had way more Bafana Bafana caps than he currently has. If you want a left-side player, you aren’t going to get any better."
