Hunt: It's about three points

Cape Town - Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt has urged his players to focus on collecting points rather than worry about playing beautiful football.

The title chasing university club secured a scrappy 2-1 win over University of Pretoria at the Bidvest Stadium on Friday.

A brace from Thulani Hlatshwayo secured the points which narrowed the gap with log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns to six points.

With 39 points from 20, Hunt says it's a must that his team accumulates as many points as possible to ensure the title race goes down to the wire.

"Once you get into single-figure games it's about three points, for whatever you're fighting for - relegation, top eight, to win the League – it's about three points," Hunt told SuperSport

"But we have got to be better than that; I thought our performance was better than that to be fair. I thought we were good at times and the final ball let us down."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
