Cape Town - Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt is a happy man, having assembled what he feels is a very strong squad.
The Clever Boys beat Chippa United 3-1 on Saturday to open up a two-point cushion at the top of the league standings.
Hunt added former SuperSport United and Tottenham defender Bongani Khumalo to his squad last week, and now having been with the club for over two years, he is confident in the players at his disposal, and in the depth of the squad.
"I said before the season started we got a lot of changes to the team. We've got a lot of new players," he told the club's official website.
"Since I've taken over at Wits we have one player left in two-and-a-half years. So we've rebuilt the team, a lot of new faces and I think all it needs is games.
"We've got a good squad. We had [Sibusiso] Vilakazi on the bench [in the Chippa win], [Jabulani] Shongwe, three Bafana Bafana players on the bench [the other one is Siyabonga Nhlapo].
"So the squad is strong. We've got Bongani [Khumalo] coming in, who will also add value. But we need to build momentum and take it from there."
The Students face a good test of their credentials when they host third placed Black Aces at Bidvest Stadium on Friday.
