Cape Town - Kaizer
Chiefs defender Lorenzo Gordinho feels that he has grown as a
footballer since joining the Glamour Boys from Free State Stars in 2015.
Gordinho has played an integral role in central defence for Amakhosi alongside team-mate Erick Mathoho this season.
The 22-year-old has enjoyed regular game-time during the current campaign after limited on-field appearances due to injury last term.
Gordinho is also one of a handful of players in the current squad who have been brought through the development ranks at Chiefs.
"I was given a chance to grow and make my mistakes. It was difficult [last season] because there was a lot of expectation on the club," Gordinho told the Sowetan.
"I was young and I did not understand fully what people expected. Now I have more of an understanding and I feel I have grown.
"But now I have to live up to the expectations. I don't think there's a player who would not want to play for Chiefs. You want to be inside the pressure. The pressure will mould you."
Gordinho, who is Khosi's leading goalscorer with three strikes is expected to start in the clash of the weekend against Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Versveld Stadium on Saturday.
The match is already being described as a game that will have a crucial effect on who ends up as eventual PSL champions.
Kickoff is at 1530.
