Gordinho: Chiefs are in a good space

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs' prolific defender Lorenzo Gordinho believes the Glamour Boys have picked up a winning habit, and are feeling full of confidence at the moment.

The Steve Komphela-coached outfit have won five matches in a row and are currently leading the Premiership standings with the likes of Cape Town City, Bidvest Wits, Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United all in close attendance.

As such, Gordinho takes the view that maintaining the winning momentum is imperative.

He told the club's official website, "It's good for us as a team and for our momentum to keep it going. The confidence of the team is very important at this stage and we need to keep it going especially heading into the Ajax Cape Town game.

"You want to get there high on confidence and also maintain our place at the top of the log. The team spirit is very high at the moment. We, as players, are enjoying ourselves and it's showing with the results and that's what is important.

"This is a real team with some very good and experienced players and I think we're in a good space to continue moving forward."

Chiefs next face the Urban Warriors in a PSL encounter on Saturday at Athlone Stadium.

The action gets underway at 20:15.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
