Johannesburg - Following their second consecutive triumph, Orlando Pirates defender Ayanda Gcaba believes that the Buccaneers have reclaimed the confidence and are now capable of competing against the rest.
Gcaba was on target alongside Dove Wome as the rejuvenated Sea Robbers claimed all three points with a 2-0 victory against Maritzburg United at the Orlando Stadium on Tuesday evening.
The versatile man marker also stressed that his team-mates have endured a tough time on the pitch against the Team of Choice but he was chuffed with a clean sheet.
Gcaba also expressed his delights on hitting the back of the net following a lengthy goal draught for the Soweto giants.
"It really feels great to score because it has been a while since I did that," expressed Gcaba
"Since we've won last weekend, coming to this game we had to pick up where we left off because we have gained confidence as a team to beat Maritzburg tonight (Tuesday).
"It wasn't easy playing against Maritzburg. They are a strong team with quality players.
"They always press using their short passes but we managed to be solid at the back and we even kept a clean sheet."
The win moved Kjell Jonevret's charges to the ninth spot on the log.
Pirates will square off against Highlands Park at the Makhulong stadium on Saturday in their next league assignment.
