Gabuza shares CAF award

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates forward Thamsanqa Gabuza missed the chance to claim the top scorer award in the CAF Confederation Cup.

According to KickOff, Gabuza netted six goals in the competition with Etoile’s Baghdad Bounedjah and Georges Ambourouet on the same tally.

However, Bounedjah was stretchered off the field before the end of the first-half in second-leg of the CAF Confederation Cup final meaning Gabuza had a chance to claim the glory before the end of the encounter.

The Bafana Bafana striker failed to deliver which means he now shares the award with the Etoile duo.

The Tunisian side secured a 2-1 aggregate victory over the Buccaneers after 90 minutes.

Meanwhile, Kermit Erasmus ended the campaign on five goals as well as Etoile’s Ammar Jemal.
