Cape Town - Thamsanqa Gabuza believes their heart-breaking 2-1 loss in the CAF Confederation Cup final to Etiole Du Sahel has affected the team's form this season.
The Bafana Bafana striker admits that losing another CAF final in such a short space of time was hard for the squad to process, especially after their scintillating performances in previous rounds of the competition.
"I can say that the loss in the CAF Confederation Cup final really affected us," Gabuza told Soccer Laduma.
"After that, we were down and heartbroken. We were optimistic about winning that cup, but things didn't go our way. That killed us!
"We had to pick ourselves up after that and it was not easy. It took a lot out of us."
Gabuza has failed to replicate his CAF form in the Absa Premiership this season, scoring only two goals in 11 appearances as Orlando Pirates continue to struggle for consistency on the domestic front.
