Furman signs new deal with SuperSport

Cape Town - SuperSport United have secured the long-term future of their captain Dean Furmann who extended his stay until 2019.

The Bafana Bafana defensive midfielder has been an ever-present figure in the Matsatsansa midfield since arriving in the Premiership in 2015 from Doncaster Rovers.

With 70 appearances in the last two seasons, new head coach Eric Tinkler prioritised the extension of his contract which was set to end at the end of the upcoming season.

"Dean's contract has rolled over until 2019 because he was meant to end next year," club CEO Stan Matthews told Soccer Laduma.

Furman, capped 34 times by the South Africa national team was rewarded with the Player of the Year award at the Tshwane based side's annual prize giving for his contribution to Nedbank Cup Champions last season.
