Furman backs SuperSport to beat Zesco

Cape Town - SuperSport United captain Dean Furman believes they can beat Zesco United in Saturday's CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final second-leg tie in Ndola.

After drawing the first leg 0-0 in Pretoria, both clubs will know everything is at stake as they get set for the decider at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium this weekend.

Should Matsatsantsa qualify for the semi-finals, it will be their best performance in continental club competitions.

Meanwhile, Team Ya Ziko have experience in the CAF Champions League after reached the semi-finals of the tournament last season, where they bowed out to eventual champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

Nonetheless, Furman takes the view that Eric Tinkler's side have a good chance of beating Zesco, telling SowetanLIVE website: "Our chances are strong.

"We know the team we've got and we can score goals. We know that the game is probably going to be a little more open. We know that they are going to come at us because it's their home game and they will want to score.

"But we are confident we can score away goals. In the majority of the away games we've played in the competition up to this point we have scored an away goal. We know we can nick a goal.

"We are going there full of confidence after the first leg where in the first half we felt we really dominated the game. In the second half they sat back and were very organised even though we were still able to create a couple of chances."
