Farouk Khan in talks with 'Downs

Cape Town - Stars of Africa Director of coaching Farouk Khan revealed he's engaged with Mamelodi Sundowns boss Patrice Motsepe about playing a role in the club's youth development.

It is thought that Sundowns are keen to keep their fine progress going at all levels which includes the grooming of the next generation of stars to come through at Chloorkop.

Khan told Soccer Laduma, "I’ve had talks with Sundowns and I have a very good relationship with their president, Patrice Motsepe. And, based on the success that they’ve had in Africa, they’re a club that wants to replicate that success and defend (their title).

"They’re looking forward to the future. Just like any great club in the world, they need the players to that can do that. If you look at Bayern Munich, if you look at Real Madrid and all those clubs, they look for the players that fit the philosophy of the club."

Khan has played a major role in the development of several Bafana Bafana stars, including May Mahlangu, Luther Singh and Tokelo Rantie through his academy.

It is not clear whether he will be offered a role although it appears in the offing that the former Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach could indeed seal a move to the African champions.
