Ex-Bucs assistant coach set for Europe return

Cape Town - Former Orlando Pirates assistant coach Bradley Carnell reportedly has his sights set on a coaching move in Europe, after he was released by the Sea Robbers.

The former Bafana Bafana and Bundesliga star handed in his resignation shortly after Augusto Palacios' time as interim coach came to an end when Kjell Jonevret was appointed on a full time basis, on Monday.

As such, the Buccaneers allowed the 40-year-old to leave and it appears his next destination is a club in Europe.

The side's official website quoted chairperson Irvin Khoza as saying: "We had a request just before the break from Bradley Carnell that he had an offer from a team overseas to extend his career."

"He had asked for permission to go for an interview and such offer has now come in and he has accepted.

"He has also asked to be released which the club duly agrees to. The club would like to wish Mr Carnell all the best in his future endeavours."
