Ertugral wants Aces concentration

Cape Town - Mpumalanga Black Aces coach Muhsin Ertugral has bemoaned his side's sluggish start in recent games, which has seen them drop off the pace in the title race.

Premiership leaders Mamelodi Sundowns beat Aces 2-1 on Wednesday with their two goals coming in the opening quarter of the match from Mzikayise Mashaba and Hlompho Kekana.

Amazayoni have slipped 13 points behind the Brazilians failing to win their last five league outings, and Ertugral has urged his players to remain switched on against the big teams after seeing similar outcomes against Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.

"We spoke now and again because we have conceded early goals against Chiefs and Pirates. It seems against big teams we don't focus enough," Ertugral told KickOff.

"All these games when you look at that, we concede very quickly which again was exactly the same situation with the Sundowns goals. We have analysed and spoken what to do and how to go against it.

"At half-time we needed to a find solution, and I think the changes we did worked for us. The boys came back and the second half was great football from our side."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
