Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns spokesman Thulani Thuswa has called on the club's fans to come out in force as the Premiership title races reaches the final stages.
The Brazilians take on Platinum Stars on Thursday at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium in Pretoria needing a win to stay in touch with leaders Bidvest Wits. The Clever Boys lead the league with 51 points, a point ahead of 'Downs.
Meanwhile, Dikwena have endured an up and down campaign and are still flirting dangerously with the relegation zone.
According to Sundowns' official website, Stars have only won six times in 25 league outings. Only three of those victories were on the road, a vast difference from the side of years past when they challenged for trophies.
They have lost 11 games, and are currently 11th on the log, flirting with relegation as only a few points separate the bottom seven teams on the log. But there in lies the danger for Sundowns. They face a side that is desperate for wins at this stage of the league championship.
In addition, spokesman Thuswa has urged the Yellow Brigade to turn up in numbers for the encounter.
"This is a critical time. Your players need you, everyone of you, in the last five games as we challenge for the championship," he said.
