'Downs face injury concerns ahead of CAF clash

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns are faced with injury concerns ahead of their CAF Champions League Group B opener against ES Setif on Saturday.

According to the club's website, veteran playmaker Teko Modise is struggling with a bout of flu, as is Tiyani Mabunda, Cuthbert Malajila and Soumahoro Bangaly.

Midfield enforcer Hlompho Kekana is carrying a groin injury sustained on recent national team duty, while winger Mzikayise Mashaba is also expected to miss the trip to Algeria after dislocating his hip joint in training.

The Brazilians, who will also be without suspended goalkeeper Denis Onyango and defender Thabo Nthethe, were recently reinstated into the tournament after AS Vita were disqualified for fielding an ineligible player during the preliminary rounds.

The Premiership and Telkom Knockout champions will also battle it out with Enyimba of Nigeria and Egyptian giants Zamalek in the group.
