Dove Wome a free agent - reports

Cape Town - SuperSport United have reportedly released Togolese attacking midfielder Dove Wome, who is likely to attract interest in the Absa Premiership.

The 26-year-old former Free State Stars and Mamelodi Sundowns star has been with SuperSport since 2014 and also had a loan spell at Orlando Pirates last season.

But after battling for game-time this season - just two substitute appearances in the league - it has been reported that Matsatsantsa have parted ways with Wome.

"Dove Wome is a free agent. A settlement agreement has been signed between SuperSport and the player. He is free to join any team of his choice," said a SoccerLaduma source.

Wome's contract with United had been due to end in June.

SuperSport, meanwhile, announced three new signings on Monday evening: Darren Smith from their Multichoice Diski Challenge team, and Jamie Webber and Luke Le Roux, both from Stellenbosch FC in the National First Division.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
