Cape Town - Newly-signed Ajax Cape Town winger Sameehg Doutie believes that the Urban Warriors can achieve a third-place finish in the PSL based on their quality.
Doutie signed a contract with the Ikamva-based outfit until the end of the season from Indian Super League side, Atletico de Kolkata, and the former Orlando Pirates man spoke of his delight at having returned to the club that was responsible for his development.
"Hopefully I can help Ajax move up the table," he told the club's official website.
"The team has been doing really well in their last couple of games so the aim is obviously to move up into the top three or five, which is still possible because we are only seven points off the pace.
"It all starts with the first game against Bidvest Wits next week."
Doutie initially arrived at Ajax as a nine-year-old and spent 12 years of his life under the watchful eye of the Ajax coaches before being promoted to the first team in 2007 where he spent four seasons plying his trade before completing a move to Orlando Pirates.
"We have a bunch of quality players that can reach even greater heights," he said.
"That is why I said top three is possible still, top five obviously, which we can push for in the second round of the season.
"It is going to take all the players, we have great talent among us, its just that the players have to start believing in themselves, start believing they can do it and anything is possible because the league is still very open."
