Double blow for Clever Boys

Cape Town - Bidvest Wits will be without Thulani Hlatshwayo and Buhle Mkhwanazi for Tuesday's Premiership encounter against Maritzburg United in Pietermaritzburg.

It comes as something as a blow for coach Gavin Hunt's defence as the pair have only twice not featured together during their time with the Clever Boys.

When the duo have not been available tt has cost the Students dearly - the club shipped five goals in defeats to SuperSport United and Cape Town City earlier this season.

In the 11 appearances Mkhwanazi has made, Wits have managed to keep seven clean sheets.

Meanwhile, the MTN8 champions have failed to win 11 of the 16 matches Hlatshwayo has missed in the last two campaigns.

Hunt was forced to use Bongani Khumalo and Siboniso Gaxa against Matsatsantsa and the Citizens, although it remains to be seen if he will do the same against the Team of Choice.

Hlatshwayo and Mkhwanazi are out until the league resumes in 2017 with suspension and injury respectively.

Nonetheless, the club will go first if they win or draw against United although Cape Town City could still top them should they collect points against Free State Stars on Wednesday.
