Dikwena to ward off Pirates' Makudubela interest

Cape Town - With Orlando Pirates sniffing around, Platinum Stars are desperate to hold onto striker Mahlatse Makudubela.

According to KickOff, the 25-year-olds contract is set to expire at the end of the season and Pirates are looking to snatch up the players services.

“We have spoken to him [Makudubela] and we are hoping to meet his representatives very soon," Dikwena general manager Senzo Mazingiza said.

"It's true that his contract is coming to an end in June and we have an intention to retain him."

"It's the time of the season when you will always hear such rumours. Makudubela still has a contract with Platinum Stars until the end of the season."

Meanwhile, Pirates face Stars this weekend as the PSL returns.

Kick-off is at 15:30 on Saturday, January 9.
