Dikwena to rain on Sundowns parade

Cape Town - Platinum Stars coach Cavin Johnson intends to steal Mamelodi Sundowns' thunder in their final Premiership game of the season.

The the newly-crowned champions will lift the title on the last day of the campaign after the encounter against Dikwena at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday.

Johnson's side will enter the match with the aim to secure a third-placed finish and qualify for CAF competition next term.

"We would like to try and cement our position at number three because we want to go to Africa as a club," Johnson told his club's official website.

"We want to go out there and try and maintain that position. We have been number three this whole season.

"Sundowns will want to get a win to please their crowd but we want to make sure the third spot is ours. Then we are going to put a better fight than Sundowns on the day. We are going out for a win.

"We will give them all the accolades but on the day we are going to put our best foot forward in order to make it a beautiful game to watch."

Johnson, however, took time to praise Sundowns counterpart Pitso Mosimane for leading the Tshwane giants to a record seventh league title.

"We have to congratulate Pitso and his technical team for doing a good job," he said. "Sundowns has been the most consistent team in the PSL this season. We all strive to have that type of consistent team selection."
