Dikwena, Stars hungry for points

Cape Town - Platinum Stars will look to break their winless run in the Absa Premiership when they host Free State Stars at Moruleng Stadium.

Platinum saw their winless streak in the league extended to four matches when they were held 1-1 at Orlando Pirates on January 9.

The Rustenburg side has claimed eight points from five home matches this season.

Dikwena are placed sixth on the Absa Premiership log with 20 points from 12 matches.

Free State suffered their fifth defeat of the season when they were beaten 3-1 at home by Golden Arrows on January 9.

The Bethlehem side has claimed six points from five away matches this season.

Ea Lla Koto are placed 11th on the Absa Premiership log with 15 points from 12 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Platinum and Free State have met in 18 league matches since 2005/06.

Dikwena have six wins compared to five for Ea Lla Koto, while seven matches have been drawn.

Platinum have won three of their nine home matches against Free State, suffering three defeats in the process.

Last season Dikwena won their home match 2-1, while Free State claimed a 3-1 victory in the return game.

Platinum’s three home wins against Stars have been recorded in the last three seasons: 2012/13, 2013/14 and 2014/15.
