Decision on Tinkler to come in January?

Cape Town - There is an air of uncertainty surrounding the future of Orlando Pirates coach Eric Tinkler.

Despite reaching the final of this year's CAF Confederation Cup, the Buccaneers have slipped to 13th place on the PSL table at Christmas - they have played less games than those around them - and alarm bells are ringing.

Bucs have won just three of their 10 league games this season, and Sunday's 2-0 loss at Mamelodi Sundowns further increased the pressure in Tinkler.

But, according to SoccerLaduma, a decision on the coach's future will only be made in the new year.

The website quoted an unnamed source as saying that Pirates wanted to replace Tinkler, but that it would not happen before the club offices open again on January 4.

This, according to the source, would give Pirates enough time to find a suitable replacement for the former Bafana Bafana midfielder.

The Soweto giants last won the league title in the 2011/12 season.
