De Sa seeking solutions

Cape Town - Maritzburg United head coach Roger de Sa says he is looking forward to the short 10 day break to work on some tactical changes with his squad.

De Sa took over the hotseat at the Team of Choice last month following the abrupt resignation of Ernst Middendorp but, after failing to secure a win in his first two league games, the former Ajax Cape Town coach admits there is major room for improvement.

Following the 2-1 loss to Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday, de Sa singled out a few of his established first-team players he believes need to contribute more.

"I honestly think Evans (Rusike) can give us more, and Deolin (Mekoa) as well," he told reporters after the Chiefs game.

"It will be good to have Kurt (Lentjies) and (Andrea) Fileccia back for the next game. At least we will have a few more options.

"During the break one or two players need to get a lot sharper," the former Orlando Pirates boss added.

"We had a good moment when we equalised and there were a few half chances but we were still not clinical enough."

Maritzburg are currently in eighth place in the Premiership, trailing leaders Cape Town City by 11 points.
