De Sa predicts another Cape side to join PSL

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town coach Roger De Sa has revealed that he is looking forward to locking horns with Cape Town City FC, who are managed by long-time friend Eric Tinkler.

Speaking to KickOff, the former Orlando Pirates mentor said that having another Cape-based outfit in the Absa Premiership is 'fantastic', but that he'd like to see more than two Cape teams competing in the league in years to come.

"It’s great! But I believe we can still have another team from Cape Town in the top flight," he said.

"Two is good, but three would be even better - maybe next year. But for now, two is fantastic.

"I hope we win the League and City come second by one goal!," De Sa jokingly said.

De Sa, who worked with Tinkler during his days at Bidvest Wits and Orlando Pirates, said he has already caught up with the former Bafana Bafana midfielder - whom he believes is the right man to lead Cape Town City in their maiden season in the PSL.

"Yes, it’s great to have him around - I’ve already had lunch and dinner with him this week, so we already catching up a lot," he added.

"It’s great to have him, and I think he’ll be a massive success at the club. He’s a fantastic guy and a very good coach, and I think they’ve got the right man."
