De Sa praises Ajax spirit as 'unbelievable'

Cape Town - Roger de Sa is confident Ajax Cape Town will turn the corner after a poor start to the new Premiership campaign.

The Urban Warriors are winless this season, having collected only two points from a possible 15, but their head coach claims the squad morale has not been affected by the results.

The Cape side were expected to have a real impact in the league this season with the high profile additions of forwards Lebogang Mokoena and Mark Mayambela in the off-season, but the loss of Riyaad Norodien and Aboubakr Mobara seems to have affected their squad balance.

However, de Sa is confident his troops will fight back and gather momentum over the coming weeks.

"The vibe in the squad is unbelievable," he told Business Live. "I've said this before, but it is probably one of the best bunch of players I've ever worked with.

"They are very positive all the time and they work extremely hard. They've got a really good work ethic. Obviously, with every game we play and don't win, they are disappointed.

"It affects their pockets. But we are trying to improve all the time‚ every one is puling their weight for sure.

"It's pressure every game‚ it's no different. We have had some bad moments along the way, but overall‚ we sit after the games and think we could have won every game we played.

"There hasn't been a single match, where we have felt we were well beaten and totally outplayed."

Ajax take on Wits in a Premiership fixture on Wednesday evening with the kick-off at 19:30.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
